The Temple of Augustus is almost entirely preserved Roman monument situated in the center of Pula, on the famous Forum Romanum Square. It was bulit around the death od Emperor August, and is dedicated to the Goddess Roma and its namesake emperor.

During its rich history temple had a lot of different functions. In the Middle Ages, under Byzantium administration it served as a church, which enable it to survive to modern times. Later on it was used as a granary and as a museum of stone monumenes. It remained in its original form until it was hit by a bomb in 1944 and completely destroyed. It was entirely reconstructed a few years later. Today, it is used as a lapidary and it holds numerous ancient sculptures.
